Our day trips from Liverpool to the Lake District give you an ideal way to see the world-famous landscapes that are located within the National Park.

Mountain Goat tours starting from Liverpool depart three times a week giving you the opportunity to explore the best of the Lake District without the hassle of driving. The journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site is approximately two hours.

Once you have arrived in the Lake District your full day guided tour will start at Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway Station where you get the opportunity to enjoy a Heritage Train ride towards Lakeside. Once you have departed the train, your driver and tour guide will then take you to the medieval village of Hawkshead. This quaint village is famous for its connection with literary legends such as Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth.

Whilst you are in Hawkshead you will have the chance to explore the market town and its cobbled alleys which feature pleasant inns, guest houses teashops and gift shops. This beautiful village which is steeped in history, really is a highlight of the tour. William Wordsworth's old Grammar School can also be found here, along with St Michael and All Angels Church which overlooks the village of Hawkshead.

Once you have explored all that Hawkshead has to offer, you will be taken to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows. The Tarns is one of the most visited and photographed locations in the Lake District, the attraction allows you to take in the sheer beauty of the mountains and thick woodland that surrounds the tarns.

Soak up the stunning views before making your way back to Coniston, famous for its links with Arthur Ransome, John Ruskin and the Bluebird Water Speed record.

Whilst you are here you will have to opportunity to join the Coniston Launch for a cruise on the lake before your tour comes to an end. We will then continue our journey by heading back to Liverpool.
