This fantastic Lake District tour from Liverpool gives you the chance to escape into spectacular landscapes and breathtaking scenery that makes the Lake District National Park such a special and remarkable place. Back in 2017 the National Park achieved UNESCO World Heritage Status. This tour will give you a taster of just some of the beauty that makes up the Lake District.
You'll begin your tour with some free time around the small town of Bowness; right by the lake, it boasts plenty of shops, cafes and coffee shops. It makes a great first stop for you to have a wonder around.
Next, you'll enjoy a cruise on Lake Windermere, England's largest lake. You can sit back and enjoy the unrivalled views of the lake and the fells beyond! Once you arrive to Lakeside you'll disenbark from the boat and make your way to join the train, which will take you to Haverthwaite station, here you will meet your driver.
Please note it is the passenger’s responsibility to transfer from Windermere Lake Cruise vessel to the Lakeside Train Station, as the driver-guide will not be present. The cruise ends at Lakeside where the train goes from to Haverthwaite.
Then we’ll head to Tarn Hows, this truly is a remarkable gem in the Lake District, where you can stretch your legs and get plenty of photos.
We’ll make our way along the winding country lanes to Hawkshead, a medieval chocolate box village bursting with charm and character. It is home to a grammar school which was established back in 1585 and where the famous English poet, William Wordsworth went to school. The village has plenty of charming shops, cafes and pubs for you to enjoy.
After you’ve had a wander around the village, we’ll start our journey back to Liverpool.
