This tour gives you a day in the Yorkshire Dales from Manchester. It’s an ideal way to see the amazing landscape associated with this stunning part of Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Departing from Manchester you will head north to the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales. Here you will begin your day exploring one of Yorkshires incredible national parks.
As we follow the scenic route into the dales we travel towards the incredible natural rock formation known as 'Buttertubs', here there will also be stunning views of Swaledale.
As we continue on you will meander across heather grouse moors where, if you're lucky you may spot some wild grouse, a truely spectacular bird native to the expanse of heather high on the hills.
We then call in at the quaint little village of Reeth, where you can explore the charming streets and stop for a bite to eat in one of the many cafes or tearooms. Shortly after there is a stop at Castle Bolton, where you can take some photographs of the 14th century castle, which stands tall and proud in Wensleydale.
Continuing on our scenic sightseeing tour you will head to Aysgarth Falls. The Falls were made famous in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and were visited by historical figures such as Turner, Ruskin and Wordsworth.
Moving on our next stop is at the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes where you can try the famous Wensleydale Cheese. Next, you will head to the Ribblehead Viaduct where some amazing photographic opportunities await as the Settle to Carlisle rail viaduct soars above the valley floor.
There will be a final stop on the way back to explore another fascinating town before the tour makes its way back to Manchester.
