Your tour at a glance

This tour gives you a day in the Yorkshire Dales from Manchester. It’s an ideal way to see the amazing landscape associated with this stunning part of Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Departing from Manchester you will head north to the traditional Yorkshire village of Grassington. You will have some time for photos and the opportunity to explore this historic village. Following a scenic route past a series of traditional villages the tour then heads to Aysgarth Falls. The Falls were made famous in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and were visited by historical figures such as Turner, Ruskin and Wordsworth.

After Aysgarth Falls, you will make your way to Askrigg where The Kings Arms pub was used as the Drovers Arms in All Creatures Great and Small.  You will have time to look around the village and to get lunch.

On leaving Askrigg you will drive over the dales to Muker and the stunning Buttertubs with opportunities to take photos. If there is time, a stop at the Creamery in Hawes is possible where you can try the famous Wensleydale Cheese. Next, you will head to the Ribblehead Viaduct where some amazing photographic opportunities await as the Settle to Carlisle rail viaduct soars above the valley floor.

There will be a final stop on the way back to explore another fascinating town before the tour makes its way back to Manchester.
