This fantastic morning tour will start at 09.30am from Keswick. The tour will head over one of Cumbria's highest passes, Honister Pass, which connects the Buttermere Valley with the eastern end of Borrowdale Valley.

On this short Lake District tour, you will travel over mountain passes, through beautiful valleys, see the beautiful Ashness Bridge and spectacular Surprise View. Stop en-route for photo opportunities and to enjoy the fresh air and stunning scenery, this tour will give you a great taste for exploring further.
From Keswick you will travel into the Borrowdale Valley and the first stop will be at Ashness Bridge, which is said to be the most photographed packhorse bridge in the Lake District. Travel over the bridge by Mountain Goat and onto Surprise View. At Surprise View you will be wowed by the spectacular views over Derwentwater, Keswick and beyond to Bassenthwaite Lake.
Borrowdale Valley is said to be one of the most idyllic places in the Lake District, the magnificent fells surrounding the valley including the highest peak in England, Scafell Pike standing at 977m. You will travel through the valley admiring the farmland, dry stone walling and scenery as far as the eye can see. Continuing through the valley you will pass through the traditional villages of Rosthwaite, Stonethwaite and Seatoller before making your way over Honister Pass not before stopping at the top at Honister Slate Mine. Honister Pass connects Borrowdale Valley and Buttermere Valley and rises to 1167ft high with a gradient of 1 in 4. Honister Slate Mine is the last working slate mine in England, quarrying Westmorland green slate since 1728. From the top of the pass you will have the opportunity to take photos of the stunning scenery all around. You will then travel past Buttermere and onto Newlands Pass before passing by Keswick and traveling South.
This tour is a great introduction to the lakes if you are short on time.
