This fantastic morning tour will start at 09.30am from Keswick. The tour will head over one of Cumbria's highest passes, Honister Pass, which connects the Buttermere Valley with the eastern end of Borrowdale Valley.
On this short Lake District tour, you will travel over mountain passes, through beautiful valleys, see the beautiful Ashness Bridge and spectacular Surprise View. Stop en-route for photo opportunities and to enjoy the fresh air and stunning scenery, this tour will give you a great taste for exploring further.
You will also experience Ashness Bridge, which is said to be the most photographed packhorse bridge in the Lake District. Travel over the bridge by Mountain Goat and onto Surprise View. At Surprise View you will be wowed by the spectacular views over Derwentwater, Keswick and beyond to Bassenthwaite Lake.
Next you will travel into the Borrowdale Valley and through the traditional villages of Rosthwaite and Seatoller before making your way to Honister Slate Mine. Honister Slate Mine is the last working slate mine in England, quarrying Westmorland green slate since 1728. You will then travel past Buttermere and onto Newlands Pass before returning to your starting location.
