Join Mountain Goat for a unique opportunity to explore the Yorkshire Dales finishing as the sunsets over Jervaulx abbey and just in time to see the ruins lit in a beautiful light display.

Leaving central York at a leisurely time of midday we travel through the typical Yorkshire dales scenery of Nidderdale and Wharfedale stopping at the Classic Dales town of Grassington. Here you can enjoy a stroll around the cobbled streets and explore the independent shops and cafes.

After leaving Grassington we take the road less travelled through stunning river lined valleys,  rolling hills and remote moors to Hawes the famed "Capital of the Dales".

Here you will have the chance to sample the locally produced and historic cheese at the Wensleydale creamery and explore the town.

From Hawes we travel down Wensleydale, enjoying the beautiful scenery including views of Aysgarth Waterfalls, Bolton Castle and Middleham Castles before arriving at Jervaulx Abbey.

It is believed the original Wensleydale cheese was created at the Abbey by monks centuries ago.

Here we shall be able to enjoy a stroll around the abbey as the sunsets as the lights are turned on flooding the ruins in a fantastic rainbow of colours.

The Abbey Tea room will be open serving hot drinks and cakes and a local company will be providing hot food.

Log burners will be on site to keep you warm and music will be played around the ruins.
