The High Adventure:
The tour is a chance to see the real Lake District.
Follow a route originally pioneered by the Romans and travel over the Lake District’s famous mountain passes; Hardknott and Wrynose, which are some of the steepest in Great Britain.
During your day you will have time to enjoy a narrow gauge heritage train ride, see England’s deepest lake and visit the grounds of the 14th Century Muncaster Castle.
The Ten Lakes:
The Lake District is renowned for being the “most beautiful corner of England” and the Ten Lakes full day tour introduces you to just that.
Marvel at the magnificent scenery of the Lakeland fells, valleys and lakes from the south to the north. The tour includes a lake cruise, a visit to the 4,000 year old Castlerigg Stone Circle set high on the fells, and time in a beautiful Lakeland Village for lunch.
You will travel over high passes, through beautiful valleys, see waterfalls and traditional Lakeland villages. There will be plenty of stops to admire the views and take photographs.
Returning to your hotel or B&B you will have the evening to explore your surroundings further, wander into Windermere and Bowness to eat in some of the best restaurants in the Lake District, visit traditional Lakeland pubs, or meander along the Lake front.
