Beatrix Potter's Favourite Countryside:

You start the afternoon by making your way from Bowness Bay towards Waterhead, cruising on England’s largest Lake, Windermere. Sit back and enjoy the unrivalled views from the Lake towards the fell ranges beyond. 

After arriving at Waterhead you make your way to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm, where she wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage. You will be shown into the traditional Lakeland farm house, explore the garden and visit the shop.

Continuing onto the medieval village of Hawkshead, you will have a little time to explore its many delightful features. There is plenty of photo opportunities as William Wordsworth old Grammar School is located here. 

Onwards then, to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows, which is one of the most photographed locations in the Lake District. Soak up the stunning views looking towards the mountains at Tarn Hows, before making your way back to Windermere.

Arrive in the Lake District and be transfered to your chose accommodation type in comfort and style with Mountain Goat, where you can get to grips with your surrounding and explore the local area.

On your second day take the morning to do as you please, explore your surroundings and enjoy the incredible beauty of the Lake District, in the afternoon you will depart on our tour centred around the literary legend, Beatrix Potter.

Finally take a moment to appreciate the Lake District's incredible landscapes and appreciate the country air at the beauty spot, Tarn hows.

After the tour you will again have the opportunity to explore your surroundings and enjoy the area you are staying in.

After waking up on your final day you will be transfered directly form your accommodation on to the next stage of your journey.

Bring everything you could possibly need for a 2-night stay in the Lake District, we recommend some sturdy shoes or boots and a light rain jacket. 

Children under 5 are not permitted on board our tours.
