The Lake District from Liverpool

The first leg of your journey sees you venture to northern England's World Heirtage Site and National Park, the Lake District.

Travelling from Liverpool you will make your way to Windermere where you will embark on a tour which gives you a chance to see the amazing landscape associated with this stunning corner of England.

You will head to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm, where she wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage, visit the charming medieval village of Hawkshead and take in the beautiful central Lakes from the reknowned beauty spot, Tarn Hows.

Roman Britain & Hadrian's Wall

This tour journeys along segments of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Hadrian’s Wall tour travels out of the Lake District for the day and up to the Scottish Borders. The main focus of the day is the ‘Wall’ which we travel along exploring its remains of towers and landmarks.

During your day you will have time to enjoy the Roman Army Museum, exploring the history of the Romans and learning what it was like to work on the ‘Wall’.

A new addition to the tour is Vindolanda, a Roman settlementone of Europe's largest excavation sites and is still being worked on today.

The High Adventure

The tour is a chance to see the real Lake District.

Follow a route originally pioneered by the Romans and travel over the Lake District’s famous mountain passes; Hardknott and Wrynose, which are some of the steepest in Great Britain.  

During your day you will have time to enjoy a narrow gauge heritage train ride, see England’s deepest lake and visit the grounds of the 14th Century Muncaster Castle.  

Six Lakes in a Morning

Our brilliant morning tour of the Lakes will leave you in awe.

The tour focuses on the Northern side of the Lake District and is ideal for those who want to enjoy the spectacular scenery the National Park has to offer.

On the tour you will take in six lakes, including Windermere, Brotherswater, Ullswater, Thirlmere, Grasmere Lake and Rydal Water. 

With plenty of photo stops along the way you'll make memories you'll cherish forever.

You will be picked up from Liverpool and be whisked away to the wonderland Mountain Goat calls home, the Lake District.

Travelling in a 16 seater Mercedes Sprinter you will make your way to our national park and embark on your first tour. 

After your tour you will be dropped off safely at your chosen accomodation where you can rest, or even head into the village to explore where you are staying. 

Your short break has begun, you'll wake up fresh faced with a hearty breakfast (included in the price) and head off on your full day adventure with us at Mountain Goat, there will be plenty of time in the evening to continue your exploration.

Your final day will see you embark on a half day tour in the morning, before you are returned to Liverpool to continue your travels or return.

Bring everything you could possibly need for a 3-night stay in the Lake District, we recommend some sturdy shoes or boots and a light rain jacket. 

Children under 5 are not permitted on board our tours.

Your luggage will be safely stowed on board your Liverpool transport and left wth you at your chosen accomodation.
