Ten Lakes Spectacular
The Lake District is renowned for being the most beautiful corner of England, and this full-day tour introduces you to just that; a magnificent scenery of mountains, valleys, and lakes from the south to the north. The tour includes a lake cruise, a visit to the 4,000-year-old Castlerigg Stone Circle, set high on the fells, and time in Keswick for lunch.
On this Lake District tour you will also travel over mountain passes, through beautiful valleys, see waterfalls, and traditional Lakeland villages. There will be plenty of stops for admiring the views and taking photographs. It provides a great introduction to the Lake District, and a taster for exploring further.
Along the way, you will pass some of the region’s most spectacular sights, such as Borrowdale Valley, Newlands Valley, Thirlmere, and Grasmere. A highlight is the Castlerigg Stone Circle, one of the most famous and most visited stone circles in the country. From within the circle, you will get picture-perfect views of some of the Lake District’s highest peaks.
Stop in either Keswick or Grasmere and try a typical pub lunch, or seek out a charming restaurant. You will also get the chance to stretch your legs at the magnificent lake of Derwentwater, where you can enjoy a cruise on the lake and see the Lake District from another perspective.

This afternoon tour takes you to Hawkshead, the beauty spot Tarn Hows and Hill Top Gardens. (There is an additional charge for Hilltop House and it is not open Fridays).
You will also get to take a Lake Cruise on Windermere.
This tour is ideal for fans of Miss Potter, taking in some great locations in a scenic afternoon. Even if you’re not a fan of Beatrix Potter you can sit back and enjoy some of the best scenery the Lake District has to offer.
You will be picked up from Windermere Railway Station and taken to your accommodation, where you can rest, or even head into the village to explore where you are staying.
Your short break has begun, you'll wake up fresh faced with a hearty breakfast (included in the price) and head off on your full day adventure with us at Mountain Goat, there will be plenty of time in the evening to continue your exploration.
On your departure day, you will be picked up at your time of choosen and transfered back to Windermere Railway Station.

Make your way over the Wrynose and Hardknott passes, the steepest passes in England we drive past the extraordinary remains of Hardknott Roman Fort, 1,000 feet up on the fells.
Embark on the famous miniature Ravenglass and Eskdale railway before heading to a traditional country inn, where you may purchase lunch if you require. In the afternoon you will drive onward to “Britain’s Favourite View” at Wastwater, England’s deepest and most dramatic lake.
Your next destination is the splendid 14th Century Muncaster Castle, where you can explore its internationally acclaimed gardens and World Owl Trust. The beautiful scenery of the Coniston Fells and Coniston Water bring an end to this classic tour of the Lake District.
You start the afternoon by making your way from Bowness Bay towards Waterhead, cruising on England’s largest Lake, Windermere. Sit back and enjoy the unrivalled views from the Lake towards the fell ranges beyond.
After arriving at Waterhead you make your way to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm, where she wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage. You will have the opportunity to go into the house, explore the garden and visit the shop.
Continuing onto the medieval village of Hawkshead, you will have a little time to explore its many delightful features. There is plenty of photo opportunities as William Wordsworth old Grammar School is located here.
Onwards then, to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows, which is one of the most photographed locations in the Lake District. Soak up the stunning views looking towards the mountains at Tarn Hows, before making your way back to Windermere.
Bring everything you could possibly need for a 4-night stay in the Lake District, we recommend some sturdy shoes or boots and a light rain jacket.
