Leaving York the Private Tour heads to the famous Ilkley Moor, which is known for being the inspiration for the Yorkshire ‘county anthem’ – On Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at (‘on Ilkley moor without a hat’). There will be time to take in the views and a stop for photos.

After leaving Ilkley Moor we head west into where the industrial revolution started in Yorkshire and to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saltaire. Sir Titus Salt built the world’s first model village and his textile mill on the banks of the river Aire and christened it Saltaire, his great idea to take his workers from the slums of Bradford into what was countryside helped increase life by more than double. The mill has now been transformed into a museum, gallery and independent shops but its original architecture remains intact and is a stunning. There will be time to wander around the mills gallery, museum and enjoy refreshments.

From Saltaire we take a short drive through the rolling industrialised heart of West Yorkshire before we arrive at beautiful cobbled village of Haworth.

Haworth is known for its association with the Bronte Sisters. There is also chance to see the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, and time to go into the Bronte Parsonage (opening times may vary, entry extra).

The tour heads to Bolton Abbey. There is time to view the ruins and take in the surrounding Landscapes which inspired famous artists such as Wordsworth, Ruskin and Turner.

Before returning to York you'll stop at Pateley Bridge, here there are coffee shops and local shops to browse or take an optional gentle stroll along the River Nidd.

From here we then travel back to our start point in York for roughly 17:30.

Please note, entrance to the museum is charged at an additional cost of £12 per adult and £4.50 per child.
