Enjoy your morning at Levens Hall, an Elizabethan manor with origins dating back to the 13th century. Explore its fascinating history, including the original Pele tower and the transformation by the Bellingham family. A guide will welcome you with insights into the Hall's rich past, and you'll admire its craftsmanship and wood-panelled rooms adorned with historical crests.
Afterward, enjoy a stroll through the world’s oldest topiary gardens, featuring ancient trees sculpted into abstract and geometric shapes. You’ll then have lunch at Levens Kitchen, where much of the produce comes from the estate’s own agricultural lands.
In the afternoon, visit the village of Grasmere, where you can explore St. Oswald’s Church—the resting place of poet William Wordsworth—and wander through Wordsworth's Daffodil Garden. Don’t miss a taste of the famous Grasmere Gingerbread before heading to Rydal Hall for a peaceful afternoon. End your visit at Rydal Mount, Wordsworth’s family home, where you can tour the gardens and enjoy tea and cake while taking in stunning views of Rydal Water.
