This classic private adventure tour of the Western Lakes uses a route pioneered by the Romans!

The tour focuses around the Western Lake District travelling over the Lake District’s famous mountain passes; Hardknott and Wrynose, which are some of the steepest in Great Britain.  

During your day you will have time to see England’s deepest lake and visit the grounds of the 14th Century Muncaster Castle.

Lunch

Lunch is not included within the tour price however you will stop at the Brook House Inn for lunch.

Cancellation Policy

To confirm a booking we require the full amount at time of booking. You may cancel 72 hours prior to departure and recieve a full refund. After 72 hours no refund will be issued.

 

Discover the beautiful sights of the Western Lake District on this adventurous full-day private tour. This tour will take you off the beaten track as you discover the magnificent scenery of the Lake District with it's beautiful mountains and dramatic lakes.

Make your way over the Wrynose and Hardknott passes, the steepest passes in England we drive past the extraordinary remains of Hardknott Roman Fort, 1,000 feet up on the fells.

Head to a traditional country inn, where you may purchase lunch if you require. In the afternoon you will drive onward to “Britain’s Favourite View” at Wastwater, England’s deepest and most dramatic lake.

Your next destination is the splendid 14th Century Muncaster Castle, where you can explore its internationally acclaimed gardens and World Owl Trust. The beautiful scenery of the Coniston Fells and Coniston Water bring an end to this classic tour of the Lake District
