This private tour takes in, Hawkshead, Tarn Hows beauty spot, Coniston and the Langdale Valley. 

This tour is ideal for fans of Miss Potter, taking in some great locations in a scenic afternoon. Others can enjoy the tour as even if you’re not a fan of Beatrix Potter you can sit back and enjoy some of the best scenery the Lake District has to offer.

If you wish to add a lake cruise and/or entrance to Hill Top Farm this can be added at checkout at an additional cost.

Luggage on board

There is space on-board for hand luggage and there is a large boot for extra luggage - if you have anymore please let us know. 

Lunch

Lunch is not included within the tour price however you will stop in Hawkshead for about 30-45 minutes during the tour. 

Cancellation Policy

To confirm a booking we require the full amount at time of booking. You may cancel 72 hours prior to departure and recieve a full refund. After 72 hours no refund will be issued.

 

You start this private tour by making your way from your starting location towards Ambleside. On your way you'll visit Wray Castle, where Beatrix Potter holidayed for the first time in 1882. 

From here, you make your way to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm, where she wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage. You will have the opportunity to go into the house (Not open Fridays & entry is not included), explore the garden and visit the shop.

Continuing onto the medieval village of Hawkshead, you will have a little time to explore its many delightful features. There is plenty of photo opportunities as William Wordsworth old Grammar School is located here. 

Onwards then, to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows, which is one of the most photographed locations in the Lake District. Soak up the stunning views looking towards the mountains at Tarn Hows, before making your way back to Windermere.
