Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the Langdale Valley, stopping at Blea Tarn, a tranquil lake nestled in a spectacular setting. From here, travel onward to Wrynose Pass, where the steep, winding road offers breathtaking valley views. As you navigate one of Britain’s steepest mountain roads, your driver-guide will share fascinating insights before reaching the historic Three Shires Stone, marking the former counties of Cumberland, Lancashire, and Westmorland.
Next, brace yourself for the legendary Hardknott Pass, another of Britain’s most challenging roads. Along the way, you’ll pass Hardknott Roman Fort, perched 1,000 feet up on the fells.
