The Mountain Goat team enjoyed an evening on Lake Windermere with the team from the Bowness based attraction

The Mountain Goat team enjoyed a fantastic, if a little bit chilly, evening out cruising along Lake Windermere for Windermere Lake Cruises' Buffet Cruise

Arriving at Bowness Bay Pier the team were all rather excited (definitely not due to the abundance of food they were about to consume) as they boarded their vessel for a night of music, meals and a couple of beverages.

After embarking the team tucked in to a buffet filled to the brim with local cuisine, from honey roast cumbrian ham and cheese and onion flan, and then washed it down with a couple of gin and tonics or a cuppa.

The weather held out for the most part, in typical Lake District fashion the cloud began to fill the sky as the boat trundled up the lake.

This did nothing to damped the beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and fells which the team call home.

The beautiful surroundings were complimented by the resident band, 'Trickle Charge', who played a variety of tunes  from a host of genres including jazz, latin rhythms and pop music.

The cruise was a fantastic way to spend a summer evening and proved popular with vistors and locals alike who took to the deck.

Leaving Bowness on Saturdays and Wednesdays, the cruise lasts for two hours and boasts a fully-lisenced bar on top of the two-course buffet and band.

Tickets can be purchased through the Windermere Lake Cruises website or by calling 015394 43360.
