The team enjoyed a festive day out walking around some of the Lake District beauty spots our tours visit!

On a rather dreary Lake District morning, while the fog clung low to the ground and a light drizzle pattered down through the leafless forests, the Mountain Goat team donned their rain coats a Christmas hats for a festive walk to celebrate the Christmas season.

Two Goat buses loaded with staff from all corners of the company trundled through the misty Lake District in the early morning to the start of the walk route, a leisurely stroll around the man made tarn, Tarn Hows, through Monk Coniston and around the lake to finish at the Bluebird Café.

After arriving at Tarn Hows a tabled laden with Christmas treats appeared, including scrumptious home made fudge, Christmas cake and some delicious mince pies, for the team to enjoy before setting off along the shoreline, through the tall pines which encircle the magical man made tarn.

Cheery conversation could be heard throughout the woods as the team made their way through the Lakeland landscape and as we emerged from the forest into the gardens on Monk Coniston the sun broke through the clouds and bathed the valley in its soft winter glow.

The lake glistened as the sun's rays hit the surface and the team made their way along the winding country road towards the lake shore, and although the slight rain persisted everyone was in high spirits, maybe because we were greeted by a piping hot bowl of soup and some wonderful sandwiches when we arrived at the Bluebird.
