Mountain Goat Tours was proud to donate to The Lake District Foundation’s Big Give Christmas Challenge 2024.
The Lake District Foundation announced the successful completion of the campaign, with the overall campaign raising an incredible total of £32,000 for the ongoing maintenance and restoration of the Lake District’s fells, including the paths on England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike.
The seven-day campaign relied on the generosity of local businesses, donors and supporters contributing and the campaign was matched, doubling the impact for this vital cause.
Mountain Goat proudly joined forces with the Lake District Foundation earlier in 2024 to raise funds and provide peoplepower for projects that benefit the Lake District National Park.
For over fifty years, we’ve been touring the Lake District, showing people from all over the world the beauty of this magnificent place. Now, we’ve teamed up with the charity The Lake District Foundation, to help protect and preserve the area.
Mountain Goat also donates a percentage of the price a scheduled Lake District tours to the Foundation.
Sarah Swindley, Chief Executive of the Lake District Foundation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the campaign,
“Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and participating businesses we have doubled the impact of donations during this campaign. The funds raised are crucial for maintaining and repairing our upland paths, facing increasing strain from both footfall and climate change. The Fix the Fells partnership is committed to caring for the Lake District’s landscapes and this overwhelming show of support helps make that possible.”
