Mr Broughton, who bought Mountain Goat Limited in 1993 alongside Sir Normal Stoller CBE KStJ DL and Peter Natrass, said: “I was completely surprised and delighted to win this award last night.

“I am very much honoured to have received it.

“When we started up in business and bought the Goat in 1993 our maxim was that we need to work in partnership with like-minded businesses and organisations to promote our wonderful area.

“In this county we found this to be easily fulfilled, we have worked successfully with organisations like Cumbria Tourism for almost 30 years and hope to continue to do so for a long time to come.”
