Mountain Goat Holidays Booking Conditions
How to Book When you have selected your Mountain Goat Holiday please complete the booking form and send it to us together with your deposit and insurance premium payable to Mountain Goat Holidays Trust Account.
Booking and Deposit Payments Every booking requires a deposit to the value of £75.00 per person plus the premium per person for the insurance cover if you wish to take up the option (not available to overseas customers). For short break bookings, your payment should be the full value of the package.
The person signing the booking form does so on the behalf of and with the authority of all those persons included on the booking form and recognises the liabilities associated with making, amending or cancelling the booking.
The booking is confirmed when you receive a written confirmation from Mountain Goat. Every booking is accepted by the conditions imposed by ourselves, the hotel, the insurers and any other companies involved in the provision of the holiday.
Holiday Price Holiday prices are as shown within the holiday brochure/on the website and include all items specified in the holiday description including VAT at the current rate. We do reserve the right to pass on any surcharges resulting from Government action, including licensing, fuel duty, bonding and VAT.
Payment The balance of the holiday cost must be paid at least eight weeks before departure. If the holiday balance is not paid Mountain Goat Holidays reserve the right to cancel the holiday, retain any deposit and apply cancellation charge as detailed below.
Holiday Booking Amendment After confirmation has been issued, any amendments to the holiday must be notified in writing by the person signing the booking form. An administration charge of £10.00 will be made to effect the amendment.
Holiday Booking Cancellation You may cancel your holiday booking at any time providing that the cancellation is immediately confirmed in writing. In this event we will retain your deposit and apply cancellation charges listed below.
Days Prior to Arrival More than 42 days - Deposit only 28 - 42 days - 30% of the holiday cost 14 - 27 days - 45% of the holiday cost 7 - 13 days - 60% of the holiday cost 1 - 6 days - 100% of the holiday cost
If your reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your holiday insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.
Variations Holiday arrangements are made many months in advance. If there is a need to make any changes you will be advised at the earliest opportunity.
If we need to materially alter the holiday package or even cancel it within 6 weeks of the start date, you will again be advised at the earliest opportunity and offered the package amendment, an alternative holiday or booking cancellation with full refund of monies paid to Mountain Goat Trust Account for that holiday.
Liabilities We accept responsibility for ensuring that all component parts of your holiday as described in the brochure are supplied to you at a reasonable standard. Mountain Goat Holidays have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that your package holiday components are provided safely and efficiently. WE accept liability for personal injury caused by negligence of ourselves, our employees and our agents, provided that we are notified within 3 months of the end of the holiday and that you assign to Mountain Goat Holidays, any rights against any other person or party relating to the claim and that you co-operate fully should we or our insurers wish to enforce those rights.
We do not accept liability for holiday cancellations caused through war, or there-of, riot, civil strife, industrial action, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions.
We do not accept liability for personal injury caused during travelling to and from the holiday package unless you are travelling on Mountain Goat owned and operated transport.
When you incur personal injury which has not arisen from an activity which forms part of the Mountain Goat Holiday Package, we will provide guidance and assistance to help you in resolving any claim you may have against a third party.
Other Conditions
Smoking is not permitted on Mountain Goat vehicles. We regret that pets are not allowed other than guide dogs and this must be by prior arrangement before the booking is confirmed. We are unable to carry children under the age of 5 years on any of our daily tours.
We do our best to ensure that any special requirements are fulfuilled such as requests for particular accommodation or seat allocation. However we do not accept any liability if your requests are not satisfied.
Complaints If you have a complaint, please raise the matter with your Driver/Guide as soon as possible. He/she will do their best to resolve it for you. If they are unable to resolve your complaint, please notify our office at: Victoria Street, Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 1AD within 14 days of the end of your holiday.
We will investigate your complaint and keep you informed of our progress.
It is our objective to resolve all complaints amicably. Please note that responses during high season may take a little longer as we have to wait for replies from other parties involved.
Travel Agents Please note that deposits paid to travel agents are held by the travel agent on behalf of the customer until the booking is confirmed. Thereafter any monies held by the travel agent are held on behalf of Mountain Goat Holidays. This only applies to travel agents who are members of ABTA.
Information We do our best to ensure that all information provided is accurate. If there is any change or correction to the information after you have made a booking, you will be notified at the earliest opportunity.
Hotel Requirements Where there is a choice of hotel for the holiday please state both your first and second choice. We will do our best to arrange your first choice.

Holiday Insurance We strongly recommend all clients arrange travel insurance. We have arranged a Special Holiday Travel Insurance Scheme with AXA Insurance (UK) plc. For peace of mind and protection, all clients are automatically insured unless the appropriate box is marked on the booking form confirming insurance is not required.
We summarise below the details of the insurance cover provided which also includes INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL RESCUSE 24-hour emergency service. The following is a brief summary of the cover available. Full details of Cover , Policy Warranties and Exclusions will be forwarded with your confirmation of booking. In any event you may ask for a specimen copy of the Policy wording before booking should you wish to examine this in advance.

Medical and other Expenses. Personal Property and Money excess £30.00 each and every incident per insured Person.
CONDITIONS
It is a condition that at the time of taking out this
Policy you must comply with each of the following:
1. You are not aware of any reason why the trip should be cancelled or cut
short.
2. You are not receiving or awaiting treatment for an illness or injury as
a hospital in-patient (as any claim arising from this injury will not be covered).
3. You are not travelling:
against the advice of a Medical Practitioner
for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment or
if you have been given a terminal prognosis
4. If you have received medical treatment, as a hospital in-patient or out-patient,
during the six months prior to the booking of the trip, you must obtain medical
advice from a Medical Practitioner at your cost confirming that you will be
fit enough to take the trip.
5. If you are undergoing medical treatment as a hospital out-patient at the
date that the final cost of the trip is due to be paid a â¬ÜCertificate of
Fitnessâ¬" confirming your ability to travel must be obtained by you at your
cost.
6. If you are on medication at the time of travel your medical condition is
stable/well controlled.
You must notify the insurer of this Policy immediately of any of the conditions
listed above arising between the date the policy is issued and the time of
departure of the trip.
Premium per passenger
Premiums shown are inclusive of Insurance Premium
Tax at the appropriate rate.As cover under the Cancellation section commences
immediately the holiday booking has been accepted, no refund in premium can
be allowed (Other than ten day refund).
