Spring Gardens of the Lake District

Hotel Information
Lindeth Howe is a tranquil retreat set in six acres of beautiful grounds and was once owned by one of Lakeland's most famous inhabitants - Beatrix Potter. We are sure that you will find the accommodation comfortable and the food to your taste. Views over the lake and to the fells are spectacular whatever time of year. Location: Lindeth Howe is situated on Longtail Hill, one mile south of Bowness on Windermere. Facilities: All rooms are finished to a high standard with en-suite facilities, colour TV, radio, direct dial telephones, tea and coffee welcome trays and hair dryers.

Price Includes
Return transfers from Oxenholme or Windermere Rail Station or Coach Stop to your hotel. Welcome drinks party. Our experienced driver guide for the duration of your holiday. Full site seeing programme. Five nights dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. Welcome pack including itinerary details.

Tour Itinerary:

Mon
We collect you from Oxenholme Rail or Windermere Rail or Coach stop and transfer you to the Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel.

Tue
A full day, starting with a short trip into the Lyth Valley and over Gummers Howe to Holker Hall. We stay at Holker until after lunch and then leave for a short visit to the monastic village of
Cartmel. We continue on through Grange over Sands for our afternoon visit to Levens Hall with its ancient topiary garden.

Wed
Today we visit Holehird Gardens, home of the Lakeland Horticultural Society, for a guided visit. Then on to a private garden in Troutbeck, before calling at Brockhole, (the National Park Centre) for lunch. In the afternoon we visit Rydal Mount and have a conducted tour of Wordsworth’s house and garden, before a stop in Grasmere.

Thu
Our tour today starts with a drive over the Kirkstone Pass via the village of Troutbeck to Glenridding. Here we board the steamer for a cruise on Ullswater to Howtown. We visit the two churches in Martindale before making our way to Dalemain, the home of the Hasell family, famous for its gardens. After lunch at Dalemain we drive through Dacre and on to Caldbeck for a visit to a private garden and coffee in the village.

Fri
The spectacular crossing of the passes, Wrynose and Hardknott, to Eskdale, Wasdale and a visit to the famous gardens at Muncaster Castle before making our way back to Windermere.

Sat
We transfer you from the Hotel to the railway station or coach stop for your journey home.
