The Seacliffe Hotel is a family run hotel set in a spectacular position on the cliff top on the north side of Whitby overlooking the North Sea. It is a very comfortable hotel and has excellent home cooked food. Double/Twin rooms are available for single occupancy at a supplement of £14.00 per night.

We will meet you at Darlington Rail Station or the National Express Coach stop between 2 and 4 pm and transfer you to our hotel in Whitby. Before dinner we will have a drinks party so you can meet your fellow guests.

Today we are going to explore the middle of the moors. After leaving Whitby we head for Grosmount, the northern terminus of the North Yorks Railway, and onto Egton Bridge and Lealholm via the rather steep Limber Hill. After a coffee stop we cross the Moors with fantastic views down into Fryup Dale, via Hamer House, the Rosedale Abbey for lunch. In the afternoon we continue over the moors to Lastingham, and have a look at its beautiful church with its 1000 year old crypt. From here we go to the quaker village of Hutton le Hole for a tea stop before making our way back to Whitby.

Our first stop today is on the south side of Whitby where we climb steeply to the Abbey perched high on the cliffs overlooking the North Sea and the town. We will spend some time here looking at the history of the Abbey. Then we drive to Robin Hood's Bay and set off to explore this fascinating village, hugging the side of the cliff. We have lunch here before setting off for Scarborough where we spend the afternoon.

Today we head for the north of the Yorkshire Moors, Leaving Whitby we head to Great Ayton and Stokesley, two market towns, before going on to Mount Grace Priory at the foot of the hills. Our journey continues to Commondale and then on to Danby to visit the new Moors Heritage Centre. Our drive back to Whitby is again over the moors.

A day of rest and time to explore Whitby with a fish and chip lunch at one of the famous fish and chip shops. It is easy to walk down to Whitby from the hotel but we taxi you back up!

Today we take you on the Dalby Forest Drive through the North Riding Forest Park; 12 miles through the centre of the forest. We go onto Pickering for lunch and then in the afternoon travel on the steam railway to Goathland, "Heartbeat Country", where we have plenty of time to explore this Moors village before making our way back to Whitby.

We take the road across Fylingdales Moor to the very pretty village of Thornton le Dale for morning coffee and then on to the market town of Helmesley. This will be our lunch stop and in the afternoon we drive the short distance to Rievaulx Abbey set in the valley of the River Rye.

After breakfast we depart Whitby for Darlington to catch your train or coach for your journey home.
