Now a World heritage site our tour takes you to the remote Bewcastle to see the 14ft high Anglo Saxon cross before stopping for lunch at Birdoswald with its Visitors Centre, musuem and roman relics. In the afternoon we stop at the magnificent Lanercost Priory and inside the church look at the stained glass windows designed by Sir Edward Burne Jones and executed by William Morris.
